Frequently asked questions
How do I count the days between two dates?
Subtract the earlier date from the later one. From January 1 to January 31 is 30 days. If you count both the first and the last day, as for a hotel stay or a leave request, add 1 to get 31. Tick “Include the end date” to do that.
How are working days counted?
Every day in the range is checked: Saturdays and Sundays (Fridays and Saturdays in Bangladesh) are weekend days, public holidays on weekdays are skipped, and the rest are working days. Both the start and end dates count, the same as Excel’s NETWORKDAYS.
What does adding working days mean?
It finds the date that is a number of working days later, skipping weekends and holidays. The start date is not counted, the same as Excel’s WORKDAY: 5 working days after a Monday is the next Monday.
What is 1 month after January 31?
February 28, or February 29 in a leap year. When the new month is shorter, the result is that month’s last day, which is how most calendars, banks, and spreadsheets work.
Which holidays are included?
US federal holidays with their observed days, bank holidays in England and Wales with substitute days, and Bangladesh’s main public holidays, including Eid dates from the Umm al-Qura calendar. Eid can move by a day with the moon sighting, so add or remove days off if your office announces different dates.
Does the time zone change the answer?
The “days from today” and “days until” pages count from today in your own time zone, so the answer can differ from someone in another country around midnight. Dates you pick yourself are whole days and are not affected.
